War Poetry

Silhouette in the Sunset

Silhouette in the Sunset: One hundred Poems on the Futility of War

100 Years Since The Great War

It was called 'The War to End all Wars,' but a century later the world has suffered over two-hundred further conflicts.

“Sky burns in blasphemous beauty
as Hades’ outstretched hand
claws for souls left behind.”

Peace continues to be nothing more than collateral damage in our constant struggle to recognise friend from foe.

As long as we allow war to be a source of economic and moral profit, can we truly afford to hope?

This collection was a writing project I beganin 2018 to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War One.
